Global Update Seattle
Global Update Seattle is the print media project of the Seattle Indepedent Media Center. Formed in the summer of 2000, GUS publishes a monthly newsletter that is 4-6 pages long focused on globalization and its local impact.
KBCS 91.3 FM
KBCS 91.3 FM is a listener-supported, non-commercial radio station out of Bellevue Community College. KBCS airs Free Speech Radio News, Democracy Now!, cultural and public affairs programs, as well as blues, folk, jazz and world music.
Northwest Environment Watch
Northwest Environment Watch (NEW) is an independent, not-for-profit research and communication center based in Seattle. NEW's mission is to promote an environmentally sound economy and way of life in the Pacific Northwest bioregion.
Independent Media Center
The Independent Media Center was established by various independent and alternative media organizations and activists in 1999 for the purpose of providing grassroots coverage of the World Trade Organization (WTO) protests in Seattle. The center acted as a clearinghouse of information for journalists, and provided up-to-the-minute reports, photos, audio and video footage. Hundreds of IMCs have since been established, on every continent, with more to come.
